Who We Are

What Is Team Sweaty Sheep?

A sweaty sheep is a person exuding, soaked in, or inducing God’s love/protection.

Team Sweaty Sheep is a group of people linked in the common purpose to exude, to be soaked in, or to induce God’s love/protection.

Are We a Church?

A church is a universal company of Christ’s followers.
This is a little of what churches do:
“The church disperses to serve God wherever its members are, at work or play, in private or in the life of society. Their prayer and Bible study are part of the church’s worship and theological reflection. Their witness is the church’s evangelism. Their daily action in the world is the church in mission in the world. The quality of their relation with other persons is the measure of the church’s fidelity.” (Presbyterian Church (USA), Confession of 1967, 9.37)
“In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives” (Presbyterian Church (USA), A Brief Statement of Faith, 10.4)

Continuing:

  • Wikipedia says that “a team is a group of people or animals linked in a common purpose.”
  • Google dictionary defines “sweaty” as “exuding, soaked in, or inducing sweat.”
  • Google dictionary also offers the following as an acceptable definition for “sheep,” “A person regarded as a protected follower of God.”

With me so far?
Of course you are.

The way I see it, being a protected follower of God is the same as being a loved/loving follower of God.

Therefore:
A sweaty sheep is a person exuding, soaked in, or inducing God’s love/protection.
AND
Team Sweaty Sheep is a group of people linked in the common purpose to exude, to be soaked in, or to induce God’s love/protection.

So…
If exuding, soaking in, or inducing God’s love/protection is following Christ, then Team Sweaty Sheep is a church!
